Can you use your factory key fob?
Your factory key fob can control aftermarket remote start only when the exact installed system supports it. A lock button alone does not establish that capability. Confirm the control method in the current guide and ask the installer to demonstrate it.

Start with the vehicle configuration. Compare every listed ignition and transmission variant for your year. Check the manufacturer guide linked from the vehicle page and its recorded review date. Our initial guide checks cover page 1; your installer must read the complete current instructions.
Ask separately about the control method. An original fob, a dedicated remote and a cellular app are different options. Ask which commands work, whether any ongoing plan is required, the expected range and what happens when you enter the vehicle to drive.
Request an itemized scope: module, vehicle interface, harness if required, remotes or app hardware, programming, labour, tax and any recurring plan. Ask whether the quoted setup retains all keys and whether it needs extra safety equipment. Never infer these answers from a missing field.
For manual transmissions, use only a specifically supported system with the required safety mode. Compustar manuals describe reservation mode for supported equipment. A guide restricted to automatic transmissions is not evidence of manual compatibility.
After installation, have the installer demonstrate safe use and explain the conditions that inhibit starting. Keep the invoice, product manual and warranty contacts. If our source record is wrong, send the exact vehicle URL and evidence through the corrections page.
